Veganism has been gaining in popularity in recent years. It hasn’t quite hit the mainstream here in Egypt, but it appears that the trend is at least on the rise. Earlier this year, the first exclusively vegan restaurant, The Vegan Kitchen, opened in Cairo – not including the Koshary places of course!
Anyways, for their June issue, Cairo West magazine asked me to do a piece on veganism. Is a diet without animal products healthy? How can you minimize the risk of nutrient deficiencies?
